Website Password Protection

The Storefront Access settings determine whether customers must log in before accessing the storefront.

Three options are available:

Login is Not Required

When Login is Not Required is selected, customers can access the storefront without logging in.

This option is typically used for public storefronts where products should be visible to all visitors.

Customers may still be required to log in later in the checkout process depending on the Customer Account settings configured under Settings → Checkouts.

Login is Required

When Login is Required is selected, customers must log in before accessing the storefront.

If a visitor attempts to access the storefront without being logged in, they will be redirected to the customer login page.

This setting applies to the storefront as a whole, including storefront pages such as product and category pages.

Note: Some storefront pages may be whitelisted from the WordPress side if certain pages, such as the homepage, should remain publicly accessible.

Login is Disabled

When Login is Disabled is selected, customers are not required to log in to access the storefront and the storefront login option is disabled.

This option may be used when customer login should not be part of the storefront browsing experience.

Messaging Customization

Messaging Customization allows administrators to customize the text shown on login, error, and thank you pages across the storefront experience.

This section is located on the Storefront Settings page under Messaging Customization.

Three tabs are available:

  • Login Page
  • Thank You Page
  • Error Page

Login Page

The Login Page tab controls text shown on the initial storefront login page.

These settings apply only to the storefront login page used when customers are required to log in before accessing the storefront. They do not apply to login prompts shown during checkout.

The following fields can be customized:

Email Field Label

Controls the label displayed for the email field on the storefront login page.

Password Field Label

Controls the label displayed for the password field on the storefront login page.

Welcome Text

Controls the welcome message displayed on the storefront login page.

This text is shown only when customer login is required before accessing the storefront.

Thank You Page

The Thank You Page tab controls the messaging shown after a customer successfully places an order.

The following fields can be customized:

Title Text

Controls the main title displayed on the thank you page.

Body Text

Controls the supporting message displayed below the title.

Enable Back To Shop List Button

When enabled, a button is displayed on the thank you page that allows customers to return to the store's product list.

Button Text

Controls the text displayed on the Back To Shop List button.

Error Page

The Error Page tab controls the messaging shown when a customer reaches a storefront page that cannot be found.

This is used for 404 page-not-found errors.

The following fields can be customized:

Error Number Text

Controls the error number or heading shown on the error page.

For example, this could be set to 404 or customized to another heading such as Page Not Found.

Title Text

Controls the main title displayed on the error page.

Body Text

Controls the supporting message displayed below the title.

After making changes in any tab, click Save to apply the updated messaging.
