The Storefront Settings allow administrators to control customer access to the storefront and customize messaging shown throughout the storefront experience.
In this article, you will learn about:
To get started, navigate to Settings → Storefront from the left navigation menu.
Website Password Protection
The Storefront Access settings determine whether customers must log in before accessing the storefront.
Three options are available:
Login is Not Required
When Login is Not Required is selected, customers can access the storefront without logging in.
This option is typically used for public storefronts where products should be visible to all visitors.
Customers may still be required to log in later in the checkout process depending on the Customer Account settings configured under Settings → Checkouts.
Login is Required
When Login is Required is selected, customers must log in before accessing the storefront.
If a visitor attempts to access the storefront without being logged in, they will be redirected to the customer login page.
This setting applies to the storefront as a whole, including storefront pages such as product and category pages.
Note: Some storefront pages may be whitelisted from the WordPress side if certain pages, such as the homepage, should remain publicly accessible.
Login is Disabled
When Login is Disabled is selected, customers are not required to log in to access the storefront and the storefront login option is disabled.
This option may be used when customer login should not be part of the storefront browsing experience.
Messaging Customization
Messaging Customization allows administrators to customize the text shown on login, error, and thank you pages across the storefront experience.
This section is located on the Storefront Settings page under Messaging Customization.

For example, this could be set to 404 or customized to another heading such as Page Not Found.
