In this article, you will learn more about the following:
To get started, navigate to Settings -> Taxes on the left sidebar menu.
Enabling sales tax calculations
From the Tax Settings page, to enable sales tax calculations for your store, just mark the Enable Tax Calculation checkbox as shown below:
Managing nexus addresses
You must then add at least one Nexus Address before saving the settings. A nexus address is simply an address where your business has a physical presence (office, warehouse, etc.) that may obligate you to pay sales tax in that jurisdiction. Just click the Add Address button to get started.
If you have previously added a Store Address or Shipping Origin Address in the previous settings pages, you will be able to select those without re-entering them. Just check the boxes next to the ones you want to add. If you have other addresses that you need to add, just click on the + Custom Nexus Address link.
If you are adding a custom nexus address, you will see a form as shown below where you can enter the address. You can add as many addresses as you need to by repeating this process.
If you need to edit or delete any of the addresses that you have entered, just use the Edit or X links on the tax settings page as shown below:
When you are done entering your nexus addresses, just click the Save button at the top right of the tax settings page to save your settings.
